Preparing Future Faculty Teaching Practicum (Guest Lecturer)
AGRON 182: Fundamentals of Soil Science – Iowa State University Spring 2024
- Designed and delivered a series of lectures on soil physics, soil nitrogen cycling, soil phosphorus, soil nutrient applications, and calculations, providing foundational knowledge to 160 undergraduate students (60 online and 100 in-person).
- Employed various active learning (e.g., Slido polling platform, group discussions) and practical classroom demonstrations to facilitate student participation.

- Delivered a lecture on “Insights Into Advanced Data Analytics” for graduate students in Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering at the University of Kentucky, providing foundational knowledge of the data analytics pipeline and how to apply that to their agricultural research.

- Conducted a lecture on “Introduction to Modeling: From a Traditional to a Data-Centered Approach,” providing an interdisciplinary group of undergraduate and graduate students a basic understanding of modeling and machine learning with live code demonstration using JupyterLite.

- Delivered lectures on “Soil Water and Nutrient Availability”, facilitating a deep understanding of key soil-plant water relationships among students.

- Implemented the curriculum, focusing on “Shapr3D CAD” and leadership skills, for an average of 15 middle school students every two weeks over six weeks, fostering their interest and competencies in engineering and leadership.
